Brookline, MA native and former University of Connecticut forward Jeff Adrien has signed with Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo, Spain, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports. Adrien, who averaged nearly 14 points and 10 rebounds at UConn, worked out with the Celtics this summer prior to the draft and had garnered praise from Danny Ainge. After going undrafted, he played for the New Jersey Nets/Philadelphia 76ers Orlando Summer League team and the Memphis Grizzlies Summer League team in Las Vegas. Adrien averaged 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 19.5 minutes for the Griz. Leche Rio Brogan has welcomed him as a “college star” on its website.
