Boston Celtics Head Doc Rivers has been fined by the National Basketball Association. The NBA released the following statement:

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has been fined $25,000 for his conduct surrounding his ejection on Monday, January 11, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. The incident occurred with 6:16 remaining in the third quarter of Boston’s 102-96 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at TD Garden in Boston.

   as t. heinsohn said…those refs were HORRIBLE. the NBA should adopt the nfl’s throw the red sock idea…twice a game the should be able to throw the sock at or toward the ref and be given 1 minute to vent without being ejected. the reffing sucks. david sstern needs to take the reins and get these well-paid officials all on the same page..you are here to ref a game not to try to outshine the GAME.

   i remember back in the 60′s and early 70′s the refs were there to just 1 thing…ref the game…today they make a call and circle the court like striped vultures jusst waiting to toss a T at anyone. davis stern should fine those refs the same amount of $ that DOC has to pay. fair is fair. the nba should adopt the nfl’s throw the sock idea…the coach should be able to throw the red sock toward the court or at the official and be given 1 minute to vent. fair is fair…no coach should have to put up with such incompetence and have to sit there on his hands with his lips pinned shut.
