there is no valid excuse for letting #9 Mr. Rajon Rondo don another team’s jersey… none whatsoever

  • Andrew

Without the contract it’s close. With the contract I’d take Rondo any day of the week.

    Jumper: Paul
    Penetration: Rondo
    Distributing: Push
    Rebounding: Rondo
    Defense: Rondo
    Leadership: Rondo

    Rondo vs Paul

Rondo is a better defender in my mind. He is getting better and coming into his own. Paul is better offensively now, but I think Rondo will be better. I think he will be a top 10 player within 2 years. Also, his contract is a steal and you’d lose Perkins in that deal as well. They make this trade and this teams run at finals is over and Rondo will become the player I stated above, but in another jersey. It will be like Chauncey Billups, Joe Johnson and Ben Wallace… Like Bob Lobel used to say…Why can’t we get players like that!!!

  • Greg

The only thing paul has that is better than Rondo is a jumper and even then rondo is getting better every season.

All other catagories rondo is better than CP3. Rondo is taller, longer, plays better D, and rebounds a lot better as well.

Rondo’s shot is coming along so no need to take a step down on a younger star and potential future hall of famer.

  • Greg

…..and as far as assists go between the two rondo is just as good if not better at distibuting the ball.

com on now! this is silly! you don,t make a guy your q.b. ! then talk about trading him!… is that how you win a championship? ccom.on thats rediculous!

  • joe

I love Rondo and i wouldnt trade him for no other point guard except Chris paul or Deron Williams, so if your asking me who would i want to be the Celtics point guard right now ? Chris Paul would be my choice but you cant go wrong with either.

And, to further that this Rondo or Paul discussion is moot, Rondo has proven to be far more durable than Paul over the past two years. That is of greater significance when considering the age of the Celtics and that they concede games to maintain health for the playoffs. Rondo was a constant throughout the season and can handle heavy minutes. Coming off an injury ridden season like Paul just had, he can’t guarantee either.

Are you serious???????!!!!Rondo any and everyday of the week. In my mind he’s been the number one point guard all along, you could see it coming even in the 06-07 season wen he didnt play much. I’d take defense over offense anyday. So basically if we had chris paul, down 6 in the last 2 mins. of game 7 he wouldve made a difference plz!!!!Rajon Rondo number one point guard all day!And just for the record, his jumpshooting percentage is has only decreased because he is taking more, ray allen shoots 35% from the 3, but nobody’s talking about his shot. So obviously if you shoot more your numbers will decrease, its a fact, and thats life, deal with it!

Cris Paul!!! Paul is a better player. If you took Rondo’s best year 2010 and Paul’s best year 2009 and compared them, Paul is better in every statistical catagory including steals and rebounds. Paul is a great jump shooter and if you think that having a PG that is an excellent outside shooter would not have helped them in the lakers series then you are crazy. There is no way Kobe would have been able to sag into the middle and play help D if Paul was the PG. As previously posted I would not trade Rondo for any other PG in the league other then Paul. We all talk about how big Rondo’s upside is (and there is a huge upside) but what we are really saying is, we want Rondo to be where Paul is now.

You guys are all on crack. Don’t get me wrong, Rondo is a heck of a point guard. He has done good things with the Celtics. But I am a fan of BASKETBALL. Not just the Celtics! CP3 is without question the player I would rather have on the Celtics. You guys obviously did not read the article and are flat out byist towards Rondo. CP3 has PROVEN that he can be GREAT on his own. You cannot sit there and tell me you KNOW that Rondo would be great on his own. You just don’t know. You put CP3 with Pierce, KG, and Ray and it would be DONE. I don’t care how many stars join Miami or what the Lakers bring, the Celtics with CP3 would run through anyone and everyone. Rondo is no way near CP3 when it comes to shooting the ball. And lets face it. Rondo’s poor shooting made things MUCH easier for the Lakers when it came to defending the Celtics. Kobe playing 10 feet off Rondo and Rondo not being able to do anything with it was embarrassing. Paul would have shoved that down Kobe’s throat trip after trip after trip down the court. Than again, Kobe would have NEVER been playing 10 ft off of CP3…Because he is too damn good with the Ball in his hand. You preach potential, potential, potential. I will take PROVEN, PROVEN, PROVEN all day, any day, over potential!

    Jumper: CP3
    Penetration: Push
    Distributing: Push
    Rebounding: Rondo
Defense: Push (when CP3 plays, NOBODY has been better, which leads me to…)
    Durability: Rondo
    Free Throw: CP3
    3 Point Shooting: CP3
    Leadership: CP3

Look its simple. When CP3 plays NOBODY in the League is better. When he goes through an injury, people FORGET. And the debate for who the best PG in the league is, gets brought up. CP3′s durability is the ONLY reason we are having this discussion.

  • Mike

Man I do not know what game you watch all of you. I know we all love Rondo he is much better than we projected early on, and yes he has grown into a great player, but really better than CP3 are you nuts Rondo has his games where he wants to be the best but there are many times where his effort is less than great. I would love to see the defense drop off Paul like they do with Rondo they would get 40 dropped on them, everyone is writing Paul off because he was out so long last year and Rondo had a great post season but let’s be real CP3 is a better player period he is the best PG in the league and to trade Rondo for him would be great although I do agree Rondo’s contract is set up better for the C’s.

  • Pete

We dont need CP3…Rondo has progressed every year since hes started. I personally think Paul will go to the Knicks, they just signed Staudimire, of course Eddie House is there too!

  • santos

we,ll take rondo all day long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ed

Why does he not play out the contract he signed. He also would like to be president however that will not happen.

If Paul is traded, there is no reason to believe he will be happy there.

No one is bigger than the game.

Stupid question because it will never happen like Bill Russell can come back and play!

    Verbal waste of time.

  • Torch

Rondo is a better all around PG, Paul is a wanna be Rajon Rondo…….
