The Celtics announced on their team website that they have come to terms with Shaquille O’Neal.
“It is not every day that you can add a player of Shaquille’s caliber to your team,” Danny Ainge said in the release. “His past experience speaks for itself and we believe that he is a great fit for our roster.”
And here’s the Shaq quote:
“I am honored to be joining the Celtics. I have played against Paul, Ray, Kevin, Rajon, and Jermaine for many years and it will be great to be able to call them my teammates. I cannot wait to get to Boston to get started in pursuit of another championship.”
According to the report O’Neal will wear No. 36.

Hi guys, I think this is a great move. Shaq might have a few miles on his legs, but under limited minutes that would help him and his ageless body to a cue, this is a guy that doesn,t get hurt too often, that is a huge key for the Celtics,. who have been hurt at crucial times all the time, with the number of big men now, its going to be tough for any team to defend, at least on the inside the paint. you do not move Shaq,. he moves you, unless you catch him off balance, which it doesn’t happen to much for anybody,get another outside shooter unless one of the new guys comes through, this might me just the catch and missing link that they have been missing, a huge part of the position, and if Doc substitutes at the right time. ;you just my tire out the other teams, kinda odd on saying that, but you just might, you cannot fight with inside the paint positioning and not get tired, you bang against Shaq, he just stands thier like a locomotive, I think its kinda funny to see that on this team, or with good defense. ;you can use this inside bait as a deploy to get others to get free to do thier stuff, Shaq knows how to play this game. use his body, or bait others to make thier mistakes and capitalize on it, with Doc Rivers and his playcalling,. it just might work,. take care guys and love the show
