Has Isiah Thomas been? (AP)
After Larry Bird‘s Celtics defeated his Pistons in the 1987 Eastern Conference finals, Isiah Thomas told reporters Bird “would be just another good guy” if he were black.
Now, 24 years later, in a FOX Sports interview, Thomas throws another jab in Bird’s direction — tossing Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson under the bus along the way.
“I have no problem saying this at all,” he says. “They’re all 6-(feet)-9 and Jordan was 6-6 and a half. If they were all 6-1, it wouldn’t even be a question. They wouldn’t even f—ing rate. If they were all my size, s—, they wouldn’t even be talked about.
“I beat the s— out of them when they were that big. If we were all the same size, f—.” He stops to laugh good-naturedly. “Make them 6-1 and let’s go on the court.”
For the record, Thomas retired with two NBA titles as a player. Jordan (6), Magic (5) and Bird (3) all finished their careers with more, but who’s counting?
Thomas has been accused of freezing out Jordan at the 1985 All-Star Game, questioning Magic’s sexuality in the wake of his former friend’s HIV diagnosis, bankrupting the Continental Basketball Association and sexually harrassing a coworker as Knicks GM.
And he wonders why he’s been exiled from the NBA. Hmm, I wonder …

….And if I was 6’11″ instead of 5’10″ I would have been an awesome NBA center.

What a player Thomas was. In some ways the most amazing player I ever saw. But he needs to take a long look in the mirror.

Isaiah beat all of those guys…The Pistons blew 2 chances to win at least four titles…they lost to the Celtics on the Vinnie Johnson head butt with Adrian Dantley and the play where Isaiah threw the bad pass…This team would have easily defeated the Lakers in ’08 if Isaiah was not injured in game 6…The Celtics were the duds of this era. winning only 3 titles with a team that had 4-6 Hall of fame Players every year…3 freaking titles…the Lakers only 3 Hall of Fame players at a time and yet they won 5 titles including beating the sorry Celtics twice…Celtics under-achieved…the Lakers nearly lost as many titles as they won going 5 and 4 in the Magic era…So I think Isaiah is as good as any of these guys and by the time the dream team was named he had more titles than Stockton, Malone, Mullin etcetera…the Dream team was a joke! Why was Magic on it? he was not even playing at the time.

Hey tonybee, if Magic Johnson and Byron Scott weren’t hurt in the 1989 Finals, the Pistons would have only won ONE title (1990, against the choke-artists known as the Portland Trailblazers).
And the Celtics would have won in 1985 if Bird hadn’t injured his elbow before the playoffs, so they should have won 4 titles. See how that works?
And by the way, his name is spelled ISIAH, not Isaiah. If you were a true Pistons fan, you would know that.

Don’t get caught up in the excitement of purchasing a new without doing a Used Car Check and risk thousands in costly repairs.

I believe in Zeke. He beat Bird, MJ, Magic & Clyde when they were that big. He is the ultimate warrior. The tape don’t lie…that is the reason he wasn’t in Dream Team. It was politic. At the end Zeke had 2 rings HOF. Barkley, Ewing, Mullin, Stockton, Malone (dirtyest player of NBA), Lattner..zero ring. Thanks to Akeem and Duncan, Drexler and the Admiral bekame NBA Champions. Without Isiah Thomas, the dream team wasn’t the dream team…ZEKE 12x all star, 2time allstar MVP, 1time final MVP, 1time NCAA Champion (MOP). IT is the only one who beat MJ 3times in a Playoff-serie (1988, 1989, 1990). Go Zeke, go Pistons, and forever BAD BOYS ..!
