Kevin Garnett

Celtics Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo earned starting spots in the NBA All-Star Game and will take the floor for the Eastern Conference alongside some bitter rivals: Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.

Garnett held off Heat forward Chris Bosh, who implored his Twitter followers to vote for him but fell about 25,000 votes short. Garnett ties Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal for second place all-time with 15 All-Star appearances (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has 19).

Bryant was the leading vote-getter, with 1,591,437, in earning his NBA-record 15th consecutive starting bid. He’ll be joined in the Western Conference lineup by Lakers teammate Dwight Howard, Clippers Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, and Thunder star Kevin Durant.

Reserves will be announced next Thursday. The game is Feb. 17 in Houston.

Garnett and Anthony playing together might finally make this joke of a game finally worth watching.

Well deserved by Rondo. Maybe he’ll even post a triple double. Anyone ever done that at the ASG before?

Only 2 people have ever done it.  Probably the two greatest to ever play the game MJ and LBJ.

Lyndon Baines Johnson? He was an old geezer back in the 60′s….jes kiddin….I think LBJ needs to play a bit more before we put him in the same league as MJ…not implying he sucks, just sayin let’s not put the cart before the horse….but he is a physical beast…Lord is he ever strong….

Good for Rondo, according to Doc this meant a lot to him.  And how about KG at this stage of his career ?  Pretty nice statement regarding his dedication and hard work.  Granted the game itself is a joke, but the recognition is nice.

Good for Rondo! He has worked exstremely hard for this and he deserves it. As for KG we were all expecting him to hold of Chris Bosh of course. As for Rondo only being 26 thats amazing. Congrats for everyone in the starting lineups.
