The Celtics revealed Friday that Gerald Wallace has a torn meniscus in his knee. He is likely to require surgery and could miss the remainder of the season.
Stevens said Wallace had been playing in pain for some time before an MRI showed the extent of the injury.
Wallace, who was averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds this season, had a strong game Wednesday with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over the Hawks.
